About Us

The Climate and Energy Policy Ontology and the Climate Policy Atlas data has been created by the Sustainability Transition Policy group at the Friedrich Alexander University in Nuremberg, Germany with feedback and collaboration from experts in the field. Funding Information

The STP Team received funding for this research from the German Research Foundation (DFG) – 501865131 within the German National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI, www.nfdi.de), provided by the German Federal Government, the German State Governments, and the Joint Science Conference (GWK). In addition, Silvia Weko and Aksornchan Chaianong received funding from the Office for Equal Opportunities for Women in Science and the Arts at the School of Business, Economics, and Law at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg.

The National Research Infrastructure for Energy project (NFDI4Energy) is a consortium under the umbrella of the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) dedicated to building an Open Ecosystem for FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) Research Artefacts in Interdisciplinary Energy Systems Research. Within NFDI4Energy, STP generates and prepares energy data that can be used by researchers in Germany and elsewhere. This includes data on technology support policies and climate and energy targets, but also on regulations for where which technologies (e.g. wind farms, power lines) can and cannot be built. Long data series for such data are not presently available, and the individual datasets (e.g. for a specific country or set of countries) are generally not machine-readable or in a format which can be compared across countries.
