Ontology

The Climate and Energy Policy Ontology (CEPO) describes how climate and energy policy instruments relate to and differ from each other, offering a comprehensive system of mutually exclusive instrument definitions based on the functionality of each specific instrument type. Below we display the present version, but the CEPO can be easily expanded to include further instruments and instrument types. It can also be linked to other policy instrument to make datasets based on different ontologies interoperable (like Climate Policy Radar and Climate Policy Atlas). More details about the ontology, creation process, and the OWL file are found here: https://github.com/OpenEnergyPlatform/ClimateEnergyPolicyOntology. If you have suggestions for changes or new instruments, you can make them directly on Github or get in touch via email.
